It really set the stage for the crazy, overblown, and cocaine influenced MTV videos of the early 80s. “New Moon on Monday” by Duran Duran, anyone? Hall and Oates were trailblazers (with a considerably smaller budget …arguably, just as much blow.) This video, no matter how many times I watch it, continues to blow my mind. I think you summed up the whole video quite well with these three words: “Because, why not?” Great write up. Loved it!
