The "greatest American novel" is so wildly subjective, right? But this one slides right by people. "Butcher's Crossing" is another pure gem. For me there is just something so distinctly "american" about them both. But "Stoner," man, that does it for me. The title is also fun to through people off with "...NO, it's not about that." lol What would you label as "the great American" novel? Gonna need a new audio book soon. Thanks Terry!
