Your feelings on Britpop are probably similar to mine on grunge. I didn’t find it as whiney as you I suspect. There was something unique-ish about the movement. It was 180 degrees away from bloated bands which was great. Perhaps given where we lived may have played a role because I don’t recall too much expose to Britpop outside of Oasis. I knew OF the bands because I preferred British music magazines, but never sought them out. This was a great article! And yes, “fucking Coldplay” indeed.
